Serving At Mass
An active part in the sacred liturgy
The Altar Boy Ministry assists our priest and deacons during the celebration of Mass and other parish liturgies.
Becoming an altar boy is often one of the first opportunities for a young parishioner to take an active role in parish worship. Through faithful service, altar boys learn reverence, responsibility, and a deeper love for the Holy Mass.
Who May Serve
Boys in third grade and above
Boys who have received First Holy Communion are encouraged to join. Training is required before serving at Mass.
Prepared to serve with Reverence
Traditional Latin Mass
Formation in prayer and service
Altar boys also assist at the Traditional Latin Mass and have the opportunity to learn the Latin responses used in the liturgy. Proficiency in both the responses and the duties of service must be demonstrated before induction into the Confraternity of St. Stephen.
